2017 BMW i3: Finally, More Range Than Nissan Leaf!
Of recent, the 2017 BMW i3 electric vehicle has been seeing an increase in demand in the US and a couple of European countries. The company had recorded a massive increase in sales figures since its launch of the new 94 Ah battery, according to Klaus Fröhlich, member of the Board of Management at BMW AG, Development.
In August 2016, the BMW i3 recorded an increase of 70 percent in comparison with the twelve months prior. This 2017 version is far superior than its previous version. It finally has more range than the Nissan Leaf. The 2017 BMW i3 can manage 114 miles while the Leaf only does 107 miles.
This is due to its new high-density battery that has a 50 percent more capacity than the previous battery. The only disadvantage to this battery is that it requires longer to charge. The 2017 i3 will need 4.5 hours to charge with its 240-volt fast charger while a 50 kW fast charger would take 40 minutes to reach an 80 percent charge.
The 2017 BMW i3 model comes with a price tag of $44,595 and $48,445, for the BEV model and the REx model, respectively.
