The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt has been awarded the title of the North America Car of the Year, which is the most prestigious out of all the other awards it has received.
The head of GM’s Global Product Development, Mark Reuss, said that, “The Bolt EV fulfills Chevrolet’s promise to offer an affordable, long-range electric. It is a game-changer that is not only a great electric vehicle; it’s a great vehicle — period.”
The Bolt appears to have done exactly what the Chevrolet Volt did by winning the NA Car of the Year award immediately after its launch.
The Volt was launched at the end of 2010 and it didn’t take it long to nab this highly revered award in 2011. Following in its footsteps, the Bolt, launched at the end of 2016, has won the 2017 award.
However, there is a high possibility that the Bolt would be far more successful than the Volt. This is because it is expected to sell 30,000 units this year, whereas the Volt never managed to surpass 25,000 units of sale per year globally.
Well, do you think the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt could beat the Volt?
