2017 Ford Focus RS: White Smoke Could Indicate Bigger Problem

Although owners have been bringing up this issue to Ford for some time now, Ford has never acknowledged it until. After almost a year of complaining, Ford finally admits that there is an issue with the Ford Focus RS and announced their plans to fix it.

Ford pointed out that the issue with the Ford Focus RS was the cylinder head gasket. One of the ways to know if your vehicle might be affected is to check if white smoke is coming out of the exhaust.

Ford added that models that were made from the 3rd of August 2015 until the 6th of July 2017 and is powered by the 2.3 liters EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine will be affected by the recall. Those affected will have to send their car to the dealers to get their cooling system and combustion chamber inspected.

Ford will also replace the cylinder head gasket and the cylinder head assembly as well if necessary. The recall will run until 31st of January 2019.
