2017 Ford Mustang GT350: Not Powerful Enough

GM is set to up the ante with the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which many reports have suggested is going to be worth 650hp and 650lb-ft torque; and it appears that Ford may respond with a hotter version of the Mustang, as the GT350 and GT350 are only worth 526hp and 429lb-ft torque in comparison.

A much hotter version of the Shelby has been spied recently, with heavy camouflage on the covering the front of the vehicle until the A pillar indicating more aggressive styling elements on what is believed to be the GT500.

The substantial rear wing – larger than the one on the GT350R – also gives this away, though many may find its jarring presence a little too distasteful. Let’s hope it wouldn’t take much to opt out of that.

According to a few reports, the GT500 would most likely be adopting a turbo engine that would deliver more than 750hp, an insane figure that would squash the 707hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Unlike the Camaro ZL1, however, it may not arrive with the all-new ten-speed transmission tech that Ford co-developed with GM. But with such ridiculous output, that can easily be overlooked.
