The Acura CDX as the premium answer to the HR-V (or XR-V) in China has disappointed US buyers who are interested as there are no plans from Acura to offer the new crossover stateside.
For those who have their eyes set on the 2017 Honda Avancier, which is basically a larger and arguably better-looking CR-V, the news is the same – it’s not going to make it to US dealerships.
Since Honda doesn’t sell the Honda Pilot in the Chinese market, the upcoming Honda UR-V would be the automaker’s Chinese equivalent to the three-row SUV. The Avancier is also an answer to developments in the US, as the equivalent of the next-gen CR-V.
The US model CR-V for 2017 has been spotted undergoing tests on the streets once or twice recently, and each spotting confirms that Honda’s best-selling SUV is adding more inches to its dimensions.
Whether or not it would offer three rows like the Pilot is still a mystery, but the Avancier appears to be Honda attempting to expand its SUV lineup to occupy the same spaces for both US and Chinese markets, though in different ways.
