At the recent 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, fans were given the opportunity to feast their eyes on the all-new, US-exclusive, Jeep Compass.
Rumor had it that the 2017 Jeep Compass would be sharing the Wrangler’s turbo-four engine worth 300 horsepower. However, this recent unveil has put that rumor to rest.
The soon-to-arrive Compass would be fitted with a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine worth 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft torque, instead. The vehicle will be coming with either front-wheel drive setup or AWD paired to a six-speed manual transmission or one of two auto transmission.
The front-wheel drive variant will mated to a six-speed auto transmission while the AWD variant will be getting the nine-speed auto gearbox.
The FCA is looking to achieve a highway number of approximately 30mpg, which is pretty likely for its front-wheel drive models.
We have yet to receive any official announcement on the arrival of the 2017 Jeep Compass to the United States or even its price range, but we’re positive it’ll be revealed soon. So, stay tuned for more details.
