2017 Subaru Forester Gets Classier STI Treatment!

The WRX STI performance sedan may not have gotten much of a change for its 2017 model by Subaru, but for a lucky number of quick buyers the Forester would be a great alternative, because it’s going to slap the STI badge on 300 units of the SUV.

Unfortunately, these limited number of Forester STI models – called the Forester tS – will only be available in Australia for a decent price of $54,990 AUD, which converts to a price of nearly $40,000 USD.

All the bells and whistles one would expect of an STI model are present in the Forester tS, which is based on the XT Premium trim.

The performance-related goodies available in this special model include 19-inch Enkei alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, tuned suspension springs and dampers. Its 2.0L four-cylinder engine delivers 240hp.

Aesthetically, the STI-treated Forester tS comes with a choice of three shades – Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and WR Blue.

Seeing that the standard Forester could do better in the looks department, the add-ons to this tS model makes its appearance a little more pleasing than usual.

There is leather trimming in and around the cabin as well as the steering, a CVT gear knob and instrument gauge, plus a black roof liner. Evidence of it being an STI model can be seen on the seat patterns, the steering wheel, and the red push-button ignition.
