The all-new Volkswagen Polo was spotted, free from any form of disguise, in South Africa earlier today, as reported by Cars.

Looking at this model, it does seem like the design turned out exactly what most folks had expected. This new Polo looks like a smaller version of the Golf from the front with a couple of hints of the old Polo at its rear.

Just like the SEAT Ibiza, this model sports sharp taillights that extends into the trunk opening and it will be riding on the MQB A0 platform. However, we can’t ignore the black plastic material that sits on the headlight doing what appears to be nothing. The silver frame surrounding the taillights also doesn’t look all that appealing.

Many reports have suggested that the Polo will be produced locally in South Africa; but, this makes us wonder why the steering wheel is placed on the left instead of the right, as what the market is accustomed to.

That said, based on the image, we can safely say that the model will be longer, wider and a little lower – possibly coming on par to the Golf 4’s size.
