The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 is on its way and judging from spy shots, we can safely say that the production for the meanest road-car Chevrolet is almost completed.
Despite being wrapped up in camouflage, we can make out the protruding hood and the revamped front fascia. This model is on the fast track to filling up the gap left by the Dodge Viper ACR.
Under the hood, we are expecting to see a supercharger that is bigger than the 1.7-liter in the existing Z06, especially since the last generation ZR1 was equipped with a 2.3-liter supercharger. The power is speculated to be about 700 horsepower and it will make use of the huge air vents in its front.
The recent spy shots show a row of cars on public roads, suggesting that the automaker is testing a couple of aero packages thus it seems plausible to expect something in the range of the Z07 Performance Package for the new ZR1.
Expect to see the final production model most likely at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, early next year.
