The auto world is obviously excited about the arrival of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Well, who wouldn’t be? This beast is said to be even better than the Hellcat!
The Challenger SRT Demon is reported to be about 200 lbs lighter than the Hellcat and it will be sporting larger wheels along with upgraded suspension, beefier brakes and there may even be a rear-seat delete option too.
There’s no doubt that this demonic model will be able to dominate a 0-60mph and 1/4 mile, but will it be able to beat the all-new Ford Mustang GT500 and the Corvette ZR1?
What’s Good, GT500?
The newest Mustang from Ford, the 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, is slated to be arriving with Ford’s magnetorheological dampers, just like the Shelby GT350 and the GT350R, along with a dual-mode sports exhaust.
Aside that, it’s rumored that the Mustang could be sporting a twin-turbocharged V8 mill mated to Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Last But, Definitely, Not Least
What about the Corvette ZR1, then? Well, this new baby is reported to be fitted with a supercharged V8 engine churning out at least 700 horsepower.
Chevy’s latest Corvette ZR1 is expected to be as competitive as any Corvette has ever been before. And, seeing that the Dodge Viper is done and dusted, it seems possible that the ZR1 could be the most extreme front-engine production car ever.
It sure looks like the competition is just starting to heat up but we’ll have to wait for the official figures to decide on which would be the leader of the pack.
