Before the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was revealed, there were many reports that suggested that Ford is busy working on a potential Demon rival, the Shelby Mustang GT500.

Ford claimed that the GT500 will not be just another Mustang – this will be the most potent Mustang that has ever been created. However, now that the Demon is out, can Ford really believe that it will be able to beat the Demon?

The 2018 Demon is capable of churning out 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque. That even beats the Hellcat’s power output and the Demon takes it up a notch by recording a mere 2.3 seconds to complete a 0 to 60mph.

Meanwhile, the Mustang GT500 is said to be coming with a powerful V8 mill that can produce 700 horsepower and the model will be gaining some significant weight loss – thanks to the aluminum addition to its build.

That said, it looks like the winner has already been determined. There’s no way Ford could compete against Satan’s offspring but we’ll have to wait till it is out to say for sure.
