Ford has been pushing the Ford F-150 to be lighter by using aluminum elements and it looks like the automaker is still not satisfied. Ford will be upgrading the Ford F-150 for the 2018 model year by using even more aluminum materials.

That’s not all the upgrades that it would be getting, though – Ford is reported to be fitting the 2018 Ford F-150 with an array of high tech features, just like its 2015 model. It’s obvious that the automaker is looking to have an upper hand over its rivals from GMC, Ram and Chevrolet.

The F-150 was recently spotted with the Land Rover Ranger and the Rover Evoque and it is said that the vehicle will most likely incorporate the 3-liter diesel engine from the Jaguar Land Rover.

Spy shots, on the other hand, reveal that the upcoming model will be coming with some significant changes to its body panels.

There could be a possibility of the 2018 Ford F-150 coming with the 2017 variant’s upgraded engine, the V6 3.5-liter EcoBoost with 370 horsepower and 475 lb-ft torque. But, we’ll just have to wait to find out.
