Ford’s compact hatch, the Fiesta ST, is now equipped with a three-cylinder engine under its hood. Despite being lesser than before, this does not mean that it is not as capable.

The Fiesta ST sports a brand new 1.5L EcoBoost mill churning out 200 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. This is a intimidating replacement to the previous generation’s 1.6L four-cylinder mill.

This marks the very first time the Blue Oval company has used the three-cylinder mill in a performance model. On top of that, this model even comes with cylinder-deactivation technology. However, just like its predecessor, the Fiesta ST will only be coming with a six-speed manual tranny.

The interior of the Ford Fiesta ST will be complete with Recaro seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel along with an upgraded SYNC3 infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Although there isn’t much info on the US-spec Fiesta ST currently, we’re sure that we’ll get more detail in the coming months. For the mean time, check out this video of the good looking Fiesta ST:
