The 2018 Honda Accord is confirmed to be a big step forward from the existing model as it looks to come out running on new powertrains.
In case you have missed the reveal, the next Accord will start off with the 1.5L turbo-4 engine that is sourced from the Civic and this is followed by a detuned version of the 2L turbo-4 engine that is sourced from the Civic Type R.
We brought this up because reports are now claiming that the next-gen Acura RDX will come out with the exact same setup. The RDX is due to arrive in 2019 and it will rely on the 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is sourced from the Civic Type R.
This particular change means that the RDX won’t feature a V6 mill, just like how it is with the Accord. It is a major change for both vehicles and we can only wonder on good the turbo-4 mill will be.
