It won’t be a surprise that the Honda Odyssey would be taking a lot of inspiration from the Honda CR-V and the Pilot, given the success they’ve been enjoying. The CR-V for one has been taking the market by storm through inspiration from the Civic sedan.
As such, why rule out the possibility of the Odyssey offering similar tech features as its SUV siblings? We hope the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay would be among them.
The Honda Pilot features the Apple CarPlay as well as the Android Auto tech in its EX version and all versions above it. Based on this, it seems there is no good reason for the automaker to refrain from offering the same tech for the 2018 Honda Odyssey.
This feature will benefit drivers as it will allow them the ability to utilize Google Maps along with making calls or sending texts as well as listen to their favorite tracks.
The cabin of the Honda CR-V has gone through a significant amount of modification and it now comes in a premium trim. Could we expect to see the Odyssey to undergo the same treatment, especially since it’s pushing through 2017 without anything new?
Besides that, fans have been demanding for the return of the volume knob and the automaker had brought it back in the CR-V. With that, it seems within reason for the same feature to pop back up in the minivan too.
The all-new Honda Odyssey is also rumored to be adopting hybridization so that it could be a better direct competitor to the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. That seems like wishful thinking at the moment, given that Honda doesn’t believe that hybrids would be getting a lot of love in the US market at the moment – but it’s still too early to rule anything out.
