Hyundai’s upcoming sub-compact SUV was recently spotted while it was doing its rounds of tests over at the Nurburgring.

The 2018 Hyundai Kona is still heavily clad in camouflage as seen in many spy shots and so, it’s difficult to make out its new design.

That said, we can see from the video that this Kona excels in tight corners. Many reports are suggesting that the model could be coming with the same platform as the i20 with some elements of the larger i30.

Aside from rumors that it could be coming with either a standard six-speed manual tranny or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch tranny, the Kona is also said to be featuring some extensive list of active safety systems.

This includes the autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind-spot detection, smart cruise control as well as the new smartphone integration tech exclusive for Android and iOS users.

The 2018 Hyundai Kona is slated to make its official debut some time this summer of a couple of months after, during the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
