2018 Jeep Wrangler: Looks Can Be Deceiving
The upcoming Wrangler is said to be keeping on the same basic dimensions as its previous generations. It’s also likely that it’ll be offered in either two-door or four-door variants, based on a report by Forbes. This new model will be maintaining its body-on-frame architecture and it will also feature a solid front and rear axles.
That said, this all-new Wrangler will be incorporating aluminum to help with the weight reduction while, simultaneously, enhancing performance and fuel efficiency.
Judging from the recent spy shots, it appears that the 2018 Wrangler will be retaining almost all design elements and it will certainly not move away from Jeep’s traditional styling.
However, the new version will be supplanting its removable roof with a permanent one but the power-operated soft top as well as hard top will still most probably be offered as options.
The new Wrangler version may also be offering a turbodiesel mill; highly likely to be the same 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 pickup.
Besides that, it is possible that the Wrangler would be featuring a lighter variant of Dana 44. This is specifically to enhance the model’s fuel economy along with helping to decrease the Wrangler’s weight to bring on more power and enhance performance.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will most likely look the same as the existing model but expect to see some dramatic upgrades coming with the barely updated design
