Now that we know most there is to know about the 2018 Mazda 6, we can see how it measures against all the other competitors in the market.
Thanks to the reveal of Mazda 6’s EPA numbers, we now know that the Mazda 6 will be offering about 26mpg combined which means it will be offering about the same fuel economy as models like the Honda Accord, Chevrolet Malibu, Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata and more.
In fact, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the Mazda 6 also manages to match their rivals in terms of power but there is one thing that Mazda can brag about and that is the torque of the Mazda 6. Unlike their rivals, the sedan will be offering about 310lb ft of torque.
The Accord only offers about 275lb ft of torque.
The one that can actually meet the Mazda 6 in terms of torque would be the Ford Fusion Sport with 380lb ft of torque but you will have to sacrifice your fuel economy for that.
