There’s quite a lot riding on Volkswagen’s all-new 2018 Atlas as the company is just recovering from its recent diesel emission scandal. The world is watching and the VW group needs to make it up or risk losing big time.
However, it looks like many folks aren’t particularly impressed with the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Many seems to think that it looks very much like the Jeep Grand Cherokee – expect that this version looks far cheaper. It may have been better for the company if it had just lowered the Touareg’s pricing.
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas will be competing against Ford’s Explorer along with the Toyota Highlander. This model will be underpinning the modular MQB platform that is also found in the Golf compact. It is with this platform that the model’s agility will be improved.
The latest model will be featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in its base model and this mill will be churning out 235 horsepower to the car’s front wheels.
There is also an available 3.6-liter V6 mill that is capable of 276 horsepower and this will be an AWD model. Both these engines will be mated to an eight-speed automatic tranny.
The model will be starting off at about $30,000 and it will be coming with impressive features such asmultiple USBports,VW Digital Cockpit,rear-view camera as well as an automatic post-collision braking system.
Well, do you think the latest Atlas’ features will make up for its less than appealing exterior?
