2018 Volkswagen Atlas Isn’t Fooling Anyone With Its Cherokee Looks

By  |

Volkswagen is determined to recover its image following its scandalous diesel emission episode but it looks like the 2018 Volkswagen will not be doing the company much help.

Many fans have revealed on Reddit threads that they’re aren’t very impressed with the latest Atlas. Most seem to think that the model shares too much similarities with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, when it comes to its looks.

However, some even said that the Atlas looks like a cheap version of the Jeep’s Grand Cherokee and that it would have been better if VW just went with lowering its Touareg’s price.

The Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander rival will be underpinning the modular MQB architecture and it will be equipped with a 235hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder mill in its entry level model.

Meanwhile, the 3.6L V6 engine that is also available will be able to produce 276 horsepower with AWD capabilities. Both of these mills will be paired to an eight-speed self-shifter.

Kicking off at $30,000, the model will be fitted with top notch features such as multiple USB ports, VW Digital Cockpit, rear-view camera and an automatic post-collision braking system.

That said, do you think it will be enough to compensate for its less-than-impressive looks?
