Although the BMW i8 has been around for a few years now, this is the first time BMW has ever offered the vehicle in a convertible form and BMW wants to make sure that everybody knows that.
The new BMW i8 Roadster was unveiled at the LA Auto Show this year and through the announcement, BMW made sure that everybody knew that this is the “first-ever” BMW i8 Roadster.
So what does this Roadster has to offer? Well, the vehicle will be fitted with a soft-top roof that will open and close in less than 16 seconds and stowing itself behind the passenger compartment. The passenger back seats will now be replaced by a 3.5 cubic foot storage area.
Besides showing off the new BMW i8 Roadster, BMW also talked about some of the upgrades that both models will be getting including the updated lithium-ion battery pack and engine upgrade that will allow the vehicle to offer 12hp more than before.
The 2019 models will be on sale in the Spring of next year.
