The all-new Audi RS5 is finally here but the responses it has been getting from the public is largely underwhelming. This cannot be helped as many find the RS5 to be less exciting than its German counterparts, the BMW M4 and the Mercedes-AMG C63.
Unlike the duo, the RS5 relies on AWD and it is also built with a small capacity engine. The RS5 relies on a 2.9L twin-turbo V6 mill that can develop 450PS. Together with a lighter framework, the RS5 can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds.
This is faster than the both the BMW M4 and the AMG C63 but it happens to be the only thing which the RS5 can be proud of. When it comes to driving character, the M4 has got the best ratings in the segment. On the comfort and engine sound front, the title belongs to the AMG C63.
Even with the new RS5 stepping up in the scene, the focus will still be on the M4 vs C63. We just don’t see the RS5 fitting in well into the equation and despite its attempt to be unique in the segment, Audi will need to do a lot to convince the masses on why the RS5 is the better choice.
