It looks like there is no way to escape this as it has been announced that all BMW i3 models will be affected by the latest voluntary recall by BMW.
The recall was issued after NHTSA release the crash test results for the BMW i3. Based on the documents, the test the BMW i3 failed is the front rigid barrier crash revealing that a female driver not wearing any seatbelt would be at a higher risk of getting a neck injury.
The recall would affect a total of 30,542 and will include models from 2014 to 2018 which means all the BMW i3 out there. BMW has also issued a stop-sale for all BMW i3 models until they fix the issue.
Owners will only be getting the letter in January next year so in the meantime, you might want to make sure that you are strap in everytime you get behind the wheels.
