The statistics for the most downloaded Google Android apps in July last month are out and the top ten apps are dominated by Facebook. We find this surprising because Facebook-develop apps are notorious for their privacy breeching and battery draining traits but they still continue to top the charts.
July saw WhatsApp Messenger topping the charts with 103.64 million downloads. This is followed by Facebook Messenger which accumulated 84.48 million downloads. In third placing is the official Facebook app that brags 40.99 million downloads.
Following that, we have Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook Lite, Subway Surfers, Spotify Music, Wish and Messenger Lite in that very order.
The download figures are based on global activity in the Play Store and 6 of the 10 apps listed are owned by Facebook. The full chart can be seen below.
