Samsung has gained another title under its belt. This time, it appears that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer has beaten all other manufacturers by coming out as the company with the most brand new phone model released in 2016.

Although Samsung and Apple are strong contenders in terms of global market share of their devices, the former produces a whole lot more models globally compared to Apple.

Samsung even beats other companies such as Xiaomi, OPPO as well as Vivo. However, this chart doesn’t include the various carrier models that Samsung develops for T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

Well, Samsung may have released way more models compared to any other manufacturers last year but it still doesn’t change the fact that it is Apple, specifically its iPhone 7, that achieved more sales at a global level.

This just proves that sometimes quality really beats quantity – perhaps it’s time for Samsung to take a step back and reevaluate its moves in the industry.
