It is nice to know that automakers are willing to offer their customers a variety of configuration so that their customers can get a vehicle that is custom made to suit their needs but moving forward, Ford is looking to scale down on that.
According to Ford, they are looking to shift their plans for the future. It is said that they will start to focus less on cars and focus more on SUVs, trucks, and EV. The changes that some people believe we will be seeing is the reduced amount of configuration options.
Currently, if you are looking to get the Ford Fusion, there is about 35,000 orderable combination but moving forward, Ford might only offer their customers 96 options. The same will be done to models like the Ford Focus, Ford Escape, and Ford Explorer.
Of course, that means that customers will be losing some of their freedom but it does make a lot of sense for Ford and their future plans.
