The upcoming 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon may be in the center of the spotlight currently but this hasn’t stopped Ford from quietly working on its new Shelby Mustang GT500.
Ford isn’t planning on making things easier for Dodge and it has already said that its GT500 will be the most powerful Mustang to date. However, will Ford’s GT500 be potent enough to take on the Hellcat-killer?
We know that the Demon will be weighing less but churning out more power – so much so that even the Challenger Hellcat can’t stand a chance. We’re still awaiting official details but various reports have said that the Demon, featuring only one seat, will be capable of more than 900 horsepower.
The Mustang GT500, on the other hand, appears to be coming with a potent V8 engine, as seen on spy shots. This mill is apparently capable of churning out more than 700 horsepower. The GT500 will also be going through a weight loss regime by employing aluminum exterior that works well with carbon fiber.
Well, it’s still early to decide on a winner but one thing’s for sure; there can only be one winner. So, looks like we’ll have to wait to see who takes the beast machine crown.
