Both the Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Tacoma have done a superb job in reviving the midsized pickup truck market but their strong sales position is not guaranteed just yet.

We say so because we are about a year away from seeing stiffer competition in the midsized pickup industry. Ford has confirmed that the next-gen Ranger is projected to arrive within a year from now and this will mark the return of an iconic name in the US.

There is also Hyundai with their first ever pickup truck that is built based on the Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz pickup is targeted to arrive before 2019 and it is also hoping to make an impactful start in the market.

Ford has made it clear that the next Ranger will be taking the F-150’s strategy for success. As for the Santa Cruz Pickup, Hyundai will look to get a strong start by going all-out with the vehicle.

No details have been shared on the next-gen Ford Ranger and Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup but the certainty is that the two vehicles are bound to leave the Tacoma and Colorado in the dark when released.
