The Google Pixel devices are priced between the range of $650 to $870; this makes the Nexus 6P look so much more appealing when placed side-by-side.

But this may change when the Nexus 5X starts off at only half the price. Keep in mind that these prices are derived based on Google’s Project Fi service.

The $200 Nexus 5X will look like a way better deal next to the 6P. So, it’s only wise for Google to drop its price, considering the fact that the flagship has been affected by some issues of recent.

Reducing the price isn’t only to secure additional market share in the US, as that can be easily achieved by the Pixel and Pixel XL. However, the Pixel duo won’t be able to impress abroad, especially in lower-income markets as it will be too expensive.

So, the only way Samsung could appeal to international buyers is by making the most out of its Nexus products. The Nexus 6P is currently priced at $400 on the Project Fi but seeing that the OnePlus 3 and the ZTE Axon 7 costs about the same, the Nexus will definitely lose to the latter two.

This is because OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7 are devices made specifically for local buyer’s preferences, especially in Asian markets. The only way Google could secure a strong global presence is by, firstly, pricing its offerings right.
