Despite thinking that it would be a good idea, Google’s decision to depart from Motorola was an obvious mistake. LG and Huawei could never create a device as great as the Nexus 6, produced by Motorola.
It’s irrefutable that Nexus 6P was the device that had placed the Nexus brand name on the tech map. However, we can’t help but wonder if it could have been better if it was Motorola who has co-produced it instead of Huawei?
The Nexus 6P was a good successor to the Nexus 6 but the Nexus 5X couldn’t come close to the Nexus 5. The Nexus 5X was, in fact, the worse of the lot and despite having no sales figure to show for, it’s pretty obvious that it really wasn’t a favorite.
Most consumers are more interested in the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and the Nexus 6P compared to the Nexus 5X, as revealed by Droid-Life. The Nexus 5X, measuring at 5.2-inches has wound up at the bottom of the popularity list.
Project Fi is currently offering a $150 discount on the Nexus 5X which makes it really low from its price of $349 but the device still struggles to rake in sales.
And the device had started off with a $379 price tag, meaning that this Project Fi deal comes as a second price cut. Given that $200 has turned out to be a permanent rather than temporary deal, it proves that no one is interested in it.
The Nexus 5X’s 5.7-inch sibling is doing pretty well in comparison as it cleared all of its stocks in August even after the discounted rate was removed.
The Google and LG collaboration doesn’t seem to have been fruitful. On top of its dwindling sales figures, many users had complained of various performance problem with the device.
