Google disappointed a whole lot of Nexus 6 users when its released its latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat update to its Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P devices but left its Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 out of the equation.

This proves that Google has officially terminated support for these two devices. However, keep in mind that both these devices are still eligible for all the monthly Android update for this year.

Although Google claimed that this was merely a maintenance update, it appeared that this update came with two major features: Google Assistant and Fingerprint gesture. These were Pixel-exclusive features which Google has opened up to other devices.

Google was supposed to provide Nexus 6 devices with Nougat as its last software version that the device is eligible to receive. However, Nexus 6 users are now left in the dark as Google decided to curb the full extent of the Nougat update by leaving them on Android 7.1.1.

Many users expressed their dissatisfaction over on Reddit threads as it is simply unfair for Google to do this. That said, does this mean the Nexus 6 has reached its end?

Well, if you are a Nexus 6 users, we want to know if you’re considering a device upgrade and if so, what new model will you opt for?
