Back in October 2016, the Pixel duo was launched and these babies represented Google’s vision of an ideal Android powered device. These devices came with great hardware performance along with some Pixel-exclusive features. And now, it looks like Google is opening up these Pixel-exclusive features to its Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P devices.

A few weeks back, Google kicked off the Android 7.1.2 Nougat developer preview to all Pixel, Pixel XL as well as Nexus 5X devices that had signed up in the Android Beta Program. Although deemed as only a maintenance update, it appears that it came with the fingerprint gesture support.

Despite Nexus 6P users recently gaining access into Android 7.1.2 Nougat, the highly anticipated feature wasn’t included for this model. Google has yet to reveal why this had happened but it is very likely that Google is still tying up some loose ends to make sure its optimized for the Nexus 6P.

This isn’t a confirmation of the fingerprint gesture support’s arrival but we’re certain that when the official version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat is launched, it will be bringing along the fingerprint gestures support for the Nexus 6P.
