HTC’s latest flagship device, the HTC U 11, will be officially unveiled on May 16, 2017. This device, codenamed HTC Ocean, will be sporting some touch-sensitive edges on either side of its display and it will be capable of carrying out different actions based on the gesture utilized.
Recently, a teaser video demonstrating how the technology works has surfaced on the web. However, there is no indication of the device’s name aside from a plain HTC logo shown at the end of the video.
In the video, we can see a couple walking up to a restaurant when the man takes out the device and taps on the edge which opens up what appears to be a quick-launch menu within the launcher.
The video continues with the woman asking the device from the man to access the camera via the same launch menu to take a selfie.
This isn’t much but it does gives us an idea of how the Edge Sense works. The HTC U 11 is slated to be coming with Snapdragon 835 while sporting a 5.5-inch QHD display along with a 12MP back camera and a 16MP selfie-snapper.
