Huawei’s recently released P10 have beaten Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, when it comes to the device’s camera performance.

This information is derived from DxOMark, which is famous for carrying out extensive testing of smartphone cameras. It appears that the P10 managed to score 87 in the camera test.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 managed to score 86, just like the Moto X Force, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Sony Xperia XZ and Sony Xperia Z5, whereas the iPhone 7 Plus recorded 85 points.

The Google Pixel scored 89 points, nabbing the top spot while the Sony Xperia X, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and HTC 10 scored 88.

The report stresses on the P10’s texture preservation and they state that the device is capable of recording full-HD video at 60fps and 4K videos at 30fps.

“We observed some exposure failures in very bright conditions, where darker areas of the scene are noticeably underexposed in order to capture good highlight details in bright areas (such as the sky),” clarified the report.

Besides the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the Huawei P10, sporting a dual-camera setup with 20MP + 12MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie-snapper, also beats the iPhone 6 and 6s with its camera rating.
