Fans of the sci-fi film series that blew up in the 70s and 80s would be happy if South African director Neill Blomkamp overlooks the events of Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection in taking the Xenomorph franchise forward.
That’s actually going to be the case, but only somewhat. Apparently, the character Newt who died in Alien 3 didn’t die, though everyone actually saw it happen.
The director unofficially confirmed this by unveiling a concept art that shows Newt as an adult all geared up and ready for battle.
Apparently the character Hicks is also not dead, and he’ll be returning with Newt in Blomkamp’s first effort for the franchise. While his directorial debut District 9 was a hit, his latest works Elysium and Chappie didn’t sit too well with audiences.
There’s still plenty of time before Aliens 5 makes its way to silver screens, so more info would surely surface especially after Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant is released in August 2017.
