Motorola DROID Turbo Ends Run After Marshmallow

By  |

Motorola DROID Turbo users have recently been receiving email invitations for a soon-to-arrive soak test. However, this is only exclusive to those who are members of the Motorola Feedback Network.

If the users accept the invitation, they will be given the chance to install the new software into their DROID Turbo. Since its a soak test, Motorola will be monitoring its performance.

There aren’t any confirmation for now, but it looks like this soak test may just be the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, based on last summer’s rumors. This suggests that Verizon exclusive will soon be running the Marshmallow version, but ultimately it will depend on how well the test goes.

Unfortunately, this could mean that the Android 6.0 will be the last update the device will be receiving as it not expected to gain a Nougat entry.

The Motorola DROID Turbo was equipped with Android 4.4.4 when it was released back in 2014. It then got upgraded to the Android 5.1 in July 2015 which provides a solid base that the Android 6.0 will be the next update it receives.
