Although most people seem to believe that there is not going to be a next-gen Subaru BRZ after reports of conflict between the companies when they were working on the last Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86.
However, new reports from Japan Times seems to suggest that the next-gen models might still be heading our way. According to the report, the new Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 could be coming with a new engine.
Instead of the 2.0-liter engine, we might be getting the 2.4-liter engine. No word on what the engine will be but it has been speculated that it could be the Subaru Ascent engine. If that is true, we are looking at a turbocharged engine that is offering about 260hp and 277lb ft of torque right now.
Of course, these are all just speculations right now as we have not heard any from Toyota or Subaru.
