Nintendo Can’t Keep Up With Switch Demand

Nintendo has revealed its complete results for the fiscal year 2016 which closed in March for the company and the figures are impressive, to say the least.

According to Nintendo, the company successfully sold 2.74 million units of the new console, Switch. What’s even more impressive is the fact that Zelda: Breath of the Wild for that particular console recorded 2.76 million sales!

This means many folks bought the game even prior to owning the console. Meanwhile, another 1.1 million people bought the game for Wii U, amounting to a whooping total of 3.84 million.

It appears that the demand for the Switch console is far greater than the supply Nintendo can cough up and so, not everyone managed to nab the console. That said, continuous demand for the console should upkeep the sales over into the next fiscal year.

The company predicts that with another 10 million sales of Switch, the console will definitely come on par to its predecessor.

Well, it’s not all roses though as revenue and operating profit were reported to have declined by 3 percent and 11 percent, respectively.
