The OnePlus 5 has apparently been confirmed as it has appeared on China’s Radio Regulation Authority/Wireless Authority under the Model number A5000.

According to the rumor mill, the device is expected to be arriving with a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery. If this happens, this would mean OnePlus’ latest flagship device will be lower than its previous OnePlus 3T device that came with a 3,400 mAh unit.

However, it looks like many fans aren’t happy if this materializes. Many have vented on Reddit threads that they will not consider purchasing the device if the battery is backed down to 3,000 mAh.

That said, some have speculated that there could be a OnePlus 5T coming a couple months after the upcoming flagship and this device is rumored to have a 3,400 mAh battery.

Meanwhile, other rumors on the OnePlus 5 include that the device may be coming with a 5.5-inch display that is powered by Snapdragon 835 mated to an 8GB RAM.

There are also some speculations that the device may be sporting a 23MP rear-facing camera along with a 16MP selfie-snapper.

Well, these are definitely impressive specs but it looks like fans are going to be paying close attention to its battery capacity. Let’s hope OnePlus doesn’t mess up!

Oh, and if you’re wondering why there isn’t a OnePlus 4, keep in mind that the manufacturer is a Chinese company and the number ‘4’ is often frowned upon as it sounds very much like the word ‘death’ in the Chinese language. To make it worse, “OnePlus 4” actually sounds very much like “a whole family dead” in that language. Talk about morbid!
