For the fourth time in a row, Sony has made it into the No.1 spot of the best-seller of gaming console list this February, as revealed by VentureBeat. The PS4 successfully surpassed its main rival, the Xbox One console, on its way to the top.

This success could be highly driven by the release of games such as Resident Evil 7 which also boasts the VR support for the PSVR.

NPD analyst Sam Naji said that, “With only five days in the market, Resident Evil 7 was the best-selling game in January,” as reported by VG247.

Besides that, the PS4’s success could have also been due to the fact that the Nintendo Switch only came in March 3, leaving the whole of February for the PS4 to compete against the Xbox One. That said, Microsoft didn’t fall too far behind.

The month of February also brought new levels to the Xbox One console after “Grand Theft Auto IV” became a part of the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature.

Phil Spencer, Xbox head, had implied previously that the company isn’t competing in the number of hardwares sold; they are more interested in providing excellent gaming experience to their fans.
