Several Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners registered on Verizon have reported that they have started seeing the highly anticipated Nougat update on their device.

However, Verizon has yet to officially announce the release of this new update so there is no confirmation on what security patch the update brings. Even so, this is not a cause to worry as the Android 7.0 Nougat update does come with security update – it’ll either be the March or April patch.

Android Central reports that the official changelog stated that the update brings a new battery management system along with a range of other enhancements. Although the size of the update has yet to be confirmed, it should be weighing about 1GB.

About two weeks back, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ devices received the Android 7.0 Nougat update so it’s likely that the carrier has just started sending out the update to these other two devices.
