Samsung Galaxy S7: There’s No Android 7.0 Nougat
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will not be receiving the Android 7.0 update but it’s all good since these devices will be jumping straight into the latest update, the Android 7.1 Nougat.
The South Korean manufacturer’s Galaxy Beta Program is up and running and it currently allows its members to try out the Android 7.0 Nougat update on their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. But, this is merely the phase one of the program as the final Nougat upgrade for the device would be the Android 7.1.
The initial version of the Nougat arrived in the form of Android 7.0, which runs on the LG V20 as well as Nexus device. However, Google had released its Pixel devices with an upgraded version of the update, known as the v7.1.
Although the latest update does not come with heaps of improvements, it does help enhance its vital functionality and touch performance. On top of that, it also comes with Daydream VR support.
Having said that, there is still zero guarantees that the Gear VR will be equipped with Daydream support but Samsung, Google and a few others did consist of the Global VR Association.
