Although Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ can’t surpass the iPhone 7 Plus, it looks like the Seoul-based manufacturer’s latest flagship model has successfully beat the iPhone 7, when it comes to battery life.
Based on PhoneArena‘s battery test, it appears that the Galaxy S8+ managed to last for 8 hours while the iPhone 7 only lasted for 7 hours and 46 minute. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 Plus managed to stay alive for 9 hours and 5 minutes.
The test was conducted in a fair manner where the same standard battery test was used across all models with the screen set to the same level at 200 nits of brightness and for basic indoor usage.
Despite the fact that the Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S7 Edge are equipped with the same 3,500mAh battery, the latest model is capable of offering almost an hour more of battery life thanks to its 10nm chip which boosts its efficiency.
However, we can’t ignore the fact that we’re comparing Samsung’s latest flagship against Apple’s past year’s flagship. Judging from the iPhone 7 Plus’s battery capabilities, it doesn’t sound too far-fetched that Apple will produce its upcoming flagship with an even greater battery efficiency.
