Samsung Galaxy S8 Won’t Be Coming With Virtual Fingerprint Recognition Feature
Despite all the rumors on the Samsung Galaxy S8 featuring a virtual fingerprint recognition feature, it looks like the highly-anticipated device will not be coming with the tech due to time constraints, according to the Korean journal Investor.
Samsung had joined forced with Synaptics to produce the tech for the Galaxy S series as it’s crucial that the Seoul-based company impress buyers with the Galaxy S8 series after the whole Note 7 fiasco.
The report states, “Samsung poured resources into Synaptics’ fledgling technology last year but the results were frustrating. With the production imminent, the company had to decide to relocate the fingerprint scanning home button to the back of the device at the last minute.”
That’s not all – there could be a possibility that the Galaxy S8 will not be featuring a dual camera since this feature has vanished from the rumor mill.
Samsung’s sources stated that, “It is still extremely difficult to develop transparent sensors and components to be used for an all-screen smartphone. If those technologies are fully developed, it would be a big leap forward within the smartphone industry,” in regards to Apple’s plans for virtual fingerprint for the iPhone 8.
