Sony’s Android 7.0 Nougat update schedule was leaked sometime in September which revealed that the Xperia X Performance will be the first in Sony’s line to hop on the Nougat bandwagon while the Xperia XZ will follow behind.

According to the leak, the update was supposed to have reached around October but the Xperia X Performance had only begun receiving the update a few days back.

And now, based on info retrieved from the Sony support forum, some owners of the Xperia XZ have already started receiving the latest update, as well.

The Android Nougat update will be bringing native split screen, quick shortcuts, enhanced Doze feature, actionable notifications plus an array of other enhancements. There could also be a possible upgrade to its interface, too.

If you are an owner of an Xperia XZ and have yet to receive the update, don’t worry as it will take some time before the update reaches all devices. We’re looking at a time frame of about a week, so just be patient till then!
