It’s usually the case that if you’re driving a BMW M4, you won’t have to worry about a Mercedes-AMG A45 beating you in a drag race. However, in this recent drag race, a tuned A45 is something that could shake the BMW M4.
This particular Mercedes-AMG A45 has been tuned to be able to produce 450 horsepower and it takes on the M4 on an airfield in the United Kingdom.
If you’re one to find that the two-liter turbo of the hot hatch has been milked too much, don’t forget that the record for the M139 stands at 600 horsepower. To add more excitement, the vehicle with all that power is a GLA45, coming from Taiwan.
The Mercedes-AMG seen in this race is owned by Archie Hamilton, a race car driver, who is also a part-time YouTuber. If you’re a fan, you’ll know that the M4 in this race isn’t a pure vehicle, too.
In 2016, the M4 had received an ECU update that made the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six mill churning out 520 horsepower. Check out the video below to get a better idea of the changes.
Coming back to the drag race, the M vehicle races the A45 by utilizing both the regular software, resulting in 431 horsepower, as well as the custom one mentioned earlier.
