The Last Guardian has been raking in great numbers in pre-orders, so great that even Sony is shocked as it surpasses its expectation.

Joe Palmer, Sony’s product manager, revealed to MCV that, “I can’t comment with specific details, but I can say that pre-orders for The Last Guardian are exceeding expectations.”

Palmer added that the company has been seeing “a really positive response to the Collector’s Edition in particular, which despite its higher price point, proves there’s a huge appetite for the game.”

However, Sony is refraining from hyping the game up due to its rough development and is depending on player excitement to push pre-orders.

“We’ve tried to avoid fueling the hype by playing on the fact that people have been waiting a long time for this. We want people to be excited because the game looks incredible, not because of its complicated development story,” Palmer clarified.

The Last Guardian has been developing since 2007 and now it will finally be arriving to stores near you on December 6. Looks like Sony is bringing some festive cheer to gamers!
