ZTE’s flagship device, the ZTE Axon 7, is truly a capable smartphone that you could buy for a steal at $400. It comes with a fast processor, excellent camera and boasts great audio quality.

The device comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box but during the press day at CES 2017, the company announced that it would soon receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

ZTE had only said that the Nougat update will be “coming soon” but no exact date has been announced. The Nougat update will be bringing Google Daydream support to the device, making it all that more appealing.

The Axon 7 measures at 5.5-inches with a Super AMOLED display. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor, thus expect to see an excellent virtual reality experience on the device.

Although the company failed to give a specific timeline for the update, it sure seems like it won’t take long for the final release, especially since ZTE had opened up a beta program in the US for the new software sometime in December last year.
