While the new Honda HR-V that accompanies the CR-V on the frontline in driving sales performance of the Japanese brand, the most important nameplate in Honda’s roster for 2016 will definitely be the Honda Civic.
The Civic lineup for the coming year is acknowledged as the most diverse of all Honda’s models thus far, meaning there is surely going to be one for every taste.
The range-topping Civic Type-R set to be the last scheduled for release from the nameplate in the U.S. market, so we don’t know what we’ll really get out hands on. However, the Euro-spec model of the hot hatch has been released, and it only points to more promise for what will be in store for the U.S. model.
While there will be no hybrid version of the 2016 Civic but the sedan is listed in Green Car Journal’s 2016 Green Car of the Year, beating out the standard Chevy Malibu in mpg that it contends with as part of 2016 Wards 10 Best Engines. Furthermore, the 1.6L four-cylinder Honda Civic Tourer also set a Guiness World Record with a 100mpg average in a 25-day run across two dozen European states.
With acclaim left and right, the one thing that would be the icing on the cake for the Honda Civic is the availability of Si models for 2016.
