After all the speculations, we will finally get to see the BMW 8 Series as BMW announced that the vehicle will be unveiled on the 15th of June this year just before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The reason why that particular event was chosen was that this will be the first Le Mans endurance race the company has participated in since 2011. The image released by BMW also showed the BMW 8 Series in the background but it has been blurred out so the details are not too clear.

The BMW 8 Series is expected to come in with a V8 under the hood that would be offering about 523hp and 553lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

There were also talks about BMW offering an M8 model but we have not heard from BMW yet. If that is true, that might come later this year.
